We are glad to confirm the last of our keynote speakers at this year’s FORUM conference.
Dr Leon Litvack will be opening the ReVision conference on Monday 15th with a presentation provisionally titled, ‘The Letters of Charles Dickens: A Model of Current Editorial Method.’
Dr Litvack grew up in Toronto and has been at Queen’s University Belfast since 1991. Most of his research has used historicist and post-colonial modes of criticism to explore 19th-century British and Irish literature, Victorian art and architecture, literature and Imperialism, Canadian literature, modern fiction, and Middle East affairs. Dr Litvack has done significant work in archives, bibliography, the interaction between literature and the visual arts, and in textual criticism. He is currently involved in editing the letters of Charles Dickens, and in producing the authoritative critical edition of Dickens’ last completed novel, Our Mutual Friend, (in A Companion to Charles Dickens, ed. David Paroissien (Oxford: Blackwell – forthcoming)) which will form the basis of his talk.
